- Lack of ingrown hairs
Laser hair removal reduces the regrowth of hairs in treated areas. The laser hair removal treatment results in long term relief from thick, stubborn and dark hair. No results are 100% permanent, yet repeated treatments lead to long lasting effects and the reduction of hair regrowth.
How long does it take for you to see results?
After only one session you will see a reduction in the number of regrown hair. Every following session will bring you closer to the desired result. An average client requires 6-10 sessions in series to reach their desired results. It is important to ensure the hair follicle is completely destroyed in order to prevent the regrowth of the hair. Due to the regrowth of some hair, it is recommended to schedule one session once a year to destroy any hair regrowth. Performing booster treatments leads to long-lasting effects and reduces hair regrowth.
What does the laser hair removal procedure look like?
We ask our clients to start preparing for their appointment 6 weeks prior to their first appointment. 6 weeks prior to your first appointment, please ensure to stay off the sun and avoid any form of hair removal besides shaving. Please exfoliate and moisturise 4-5 days prior to your appointment to remove all dead skin cells. Avoid taking antihistamines directly before your laser treatment. please shave the night prior to your appointment. Shaving on the day of your appointment may cause irritation to your skin. Prior to the treatment, a brief consultation is done to ensure this treatment is suited to the client. Following the consultation, the area to be treated is disinfected. Guide lines are drawn on the client’s body with a white pencil to aid with the treatment. All moles, freckles and tattoos are also covered with this pencil. The machine is then introduced. Our machine is equipped with a cooling end that aids with the relief of heat build-up from the treatment. A single exposure of a laser takes no longer than a second in one area. The technique of laser movement is suited to the area treated.
You may experience slight discomfort during the treatment, this is completely normal. If you require a break please do not hesitate to inform the therapist. Cooling agents are available at our clinic. We want to ensure you have the best experience possible.
When can I return to my daily activities?
Usually the very next day. You will receive a copy of post treatment recommendations that we strongly recommend you follow post treatment.
When can you undergo laser hair removal?
The best time to start laser hair removal is in autumn. This allows the skin to regenerate from the sun damage over the summer months. It is important to know that clients cannot undergo laser hair removal if they have been exposed to sun (tanning, or tanning beds) within the last 6 weeks. The laser is attracted to melanin, therefore if there is excessive melanin in the skin burning may occur.
How long does laser hair removal treatment take?
The duration of the entire procedure depends on the surface of the skin that will be treated. The average time is 10-60 minutes.
How long do the effects last?
There is a permanent reduction in hair. After completing a full cycle of sessions 75-80% of hair follicles are destroyed. Due to the cycle of hair regrowth it is recommended to schedule a single session once a year to destroy any regrown hair. No results are 100% permanent, yet repeated treatments lead to long lasting effects and the reduction of hair regrowth.
What does the skin look like immediately after the treatment?
After the procedure, the skin is red and may appear swollen. In most cases, everything disappears within the next few days. The skin may also feel hot. It is important to follow the post treatment recommendations for a smooth recovery. After a couple of days, you will notice small pieces of hair falling out of the treated area. This is a good sign as it indicates the follicle has been destroyed and the remaining hair is expelled from the skin.
How often should I undergo laser hair removal treatment?
During the first appointment, the number of treatments is determined. These appointments are then scheduled on the first appointment. It is recommended to undergo 6-10 treatments in series for best results. A gap of 4 weeks is required between treatments. If a client needs to reschedule an appointment, they are free to do so via phone call or text up to 24h. If a client fails to inform the clinic that they will no longer be able to attend their appointment, this appointment will be lost.
