HIFU

A non-invasive face lift using concentrated ultrasounds.

Has your skin become loose and saggy, and
your face has lost its oval shape?

If you want the effect of a face lift without a scalpel and convalescence, the treatment using HIFU technology will be a great choice. It will also work in reducing body fat and firming the body.

HIFU technology uses concentrated ultrasonic wave energy. It works by heating tissues and causing them to ablate. It is a non-invasive method of treatment used in medicine to treat e.g. neurological and neoplastic diseases.

Thanks to the use of Hifu therapy in the treatment of various diseases, this method has been subjected to numerous studies that confirmed the safety of the discussed technology.

HIFU technology is gaining more and more popularity as a rejuvenating and lifting treatment. This is because it brings excellent results without requiring any surgical intervention or convalescence.

Lifting treatments using HIFU technology are the only non-invasive treatments of this type that reach not only the skin, but also the depth of the SMAS, the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic system of the face. It is these structures that are the goal of plastic surgeons during an operational facelift and acting on their level ensures such spectacular effects.

Benefits of
using HIFU:

zdjecie_czb_hifu
  • No convalescence
  • The occurrence of clear effects after just one treatment
  • Effects on SMAS structures, which are the target of plastic surgeons during a surgical facelift
  • It is a non-invasive procedure which does not disturb the epidermis
  • It requires a much smaller number of series than other treatments
  • It gives natural effects that build up gradually
  • The treatment can also be performed in the summer months
  • Long-term effects (2 years)

The mechanism of operation of HIFU technology

During the treatment, concentrated ultrasound waves are directed into the skin. Reaching the appropriate depth, depending on the head of the device, they cause:

  • the heating of the appropriate structures to a temperature of about 60-75 degrees Celsius, which causes local coagulation of collagen proteins (thermal effect)
  • the formation of gas bubbles inside the cells and the destruction of skin structures due to pressure build-up (mechanical effect).

These two above-mentioned mechanisms of HIFU activity initiate regenerative processes lasting up to 3 months, which lead to the reconstruction of skin structures and the SMAS area.

The immediate effect of skin tension, visible after the treatment, is the result of collagen fibers’ contraction.

Skin remodeling that occurs after HIFU treatment can be divided into the following stages:

  1. Inflammatory process : where cell migration and coagulation of collagen fibers occur. During this period, erythema may appear on the skin. This process lasts up to 48 hours after the procedure.
  2. The proliferative process : which consists in the multiplication of new collagen and elastin fibers cells, and the reconstruction of the skin and the SMAS area. This phase lasts from 2 to 6 weeks after the procedure.
  3. Remodeling process – during this period, the lifting effect becomes visible and the skin tightens significantly.

The effects of the treatment using HIFU technology:

  • improvement of the face oval
  • reduction of nasolabial furrows
  • reduction of wrinkles
  • skin thickening
  • face lift
  • improvement of skin tension
  • reduction of the first signs of skin aging
  • rejuvenation of the face, neck and cleavage
  • double chin reduction
  • raising eyebrows
  • improvement of skin quality
  • sharpening the contour of the face
  • reduction of adipose tissue
  • modeled silhouette

Indications for the procedure:

  • wrinkles around the eyes “crow’s feet”
  • wrinkles above the eyebrows
  • wrinkles on the neck and décolleté
  • nasolabial furrows
  • flabby skin on the face, neck and cleavage
  • collagen losses in the skin
  • thin, sagging skin
  • loss of face oval
  • loss of skin firmness
  • double chin
  • first signs of aging
  • excess belly fat
  • “Sides”
  • fat on the arms and thighs

Are HIFU Effects Immediate?

The first noticeable effect of the HIFU treatment is skin tightening immediately after the treatment, related to the contraction of collagen fibers. The lifting effect appears gradually, and the processes leading to it are active in the body for up to 3 months after the treatment.

How long do the effects of the HIFU treatment last?

The effects of the HIFU treatment usually last up to 2 years.

What does the HIFU procedure look like?

A gel is applied to the skin of the treatment area, and then heads are applied to the skin at precisely defined depths and with appropriate parameters. They are selected depending on the part of the face or body on which the treatment is performed and the individual characteristics of the skin. After the head is applied, the so-called “Shot” releases ultrasonic waves. Most people feel as if they were stings.

The duration of one procedure depends on the place where it is applied. It usually takes about an hour to perform the treatment on the entire face.

How often to repeat the treatment

The treatment is performed in 1-3 series depending on the age and condition of the skin of the face, neck or neckline or the amount of body fat. The minimum time interval between each series is 3 months. In many cases, the use of 1 series gives very good results. After achieving satisfactory results, the next treatment should be performed after a year at the earliest.

To achieve the best lifting effect, procedures that combine the use of HIFU and microneedle radiofrequency are recommended. Then the following scenarios are most often selected:

  • 2x HIFU and 1x Micro-needle radiofrequency
  • 1x HIFU and 2x Micro-needle radiofrequency
  • 1x HIFU and 1x Micro-needle radiofrequency

The choice of a particular procedure depends on the current condition of the skin.

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy and lactation
  • cancer
  • ongoing infection
  • autoimmune diseases
  • metal implants
  • pacemaker
  • permanent implants in the treatment area
  • filler with hyaluronic acid in the treatment area (the treatment will dissolve the acid)
  • heart diseases
  • epilepsy
  • multiple sclerosis
